The rise in recent years partly reflects wider monitoring and more sources, not only more abuses. A year's bar includes incidents whose exact date is unknown.
Each line follows one type of violation year by year. Tap a legend item to filter by it, or a year to focus on it.
Thin line: each month. Thick line: the average of the last three months, which smooths out short spikes. Only incidents with a known month are included.
Incidents with at least a known month. Recent months fill in as reports arrive, so the latest bars are usually low at first.
Each incident is counted once, under its main type.
The party named by the report or its source. This is not a finding by OHRM. "Not stated" means the report does not say.
Zones as they were drawn in the source records. Reporting is uneven: zones with more communications and journalists can produce more records.
Number of reported incidents for each zone and type. Darker means more.
Most older records come from a compiled dataset that cites each record's original source. Records published directly on this site come from reports to OHRM and from news monitoring.
