Teshale Abera, former President of Oromia Region Supreme Court, has maintained contact with many well-informed sources in Ethiopia since he fled to the UK in 2005. He wrote of his anxiety and frustration shortly after the government-sponsored massacre of Amhara settlers in Guliso district, Wallega, on 1 November, which was, predictably, blamed on the OLF. He wrote: ‘. . . About 60 people are reported to have been killed in West Wallega at a place called Gulliso. As William Davison [Journalist] said, the government quickly blamed the OLA and TPLF.
