In Agarfa district, West Bale, ENDF, militia, police and ‘Prosperity Party thugs’ were reported on 6 April to be robbing more than 5,000 birr from villagers in areas such as Amalama and in Alii town. Perpetrators were named by ONM. Spies and those with personal grudges against citizens were directing the extortion. Those failing to pay were imprisoned. Kadir Abdusalam, from Gamora, Hamalama Garmamo village, Sinana district, West Bale, was detained at Robe bus station on 29 March and beaten for two days before being taken …
