Torture / ill-treatment by government forces in Bila, West Wollega (1 Apr 2025)

Arrests in Haru district, West Wallega, continued into April (ONM, 1 April) and more than 20 were detained in Dembi Dollo military camp (Qellem) in the last week of March. Villagers in Inimayi Sombo, Lata Sayu district, West Wallega, reported looting and detention on 30 March (ONM, 2 April). More than 50, including a young woman, were reported detained in Bila, Boji Dirmaji district, for more than five months (ONM, 3 April). On 4 April, ONM reported that Ejeta Mohammed, a student of Romedi college in Asosa, and his wife, Dasgara Zakariyas, were attacked by government forces in Qondala district, West Wallega.
