Torture / ill-treatment by government forces in Guto Gida, East Wollega (1 Apr 2025)

In Fayisa village, Guto Gida district, East Wallega, on 1 April, ENDF took six cows from two residents, claiming one had weapons and another’s son had joined OLA. On 2 April they set fire to Waxe forest ‘because OLA attacked them from there’ (ONM, 5 April). On 2 April, villagers of Allee Gordomo, Wayu Tuqa district, East Wallega, were attacked by ENDF again. Mothers Zawudee Oluma Baisa and Baqalu Waqgari Gudina were severely beaten because they were suspected of feeding OLA fighters. Adde Zawudee, who was carrying a small infant, was beaten twice in one week (ONM, 5 April).
