Detention by government forces in West Wollega (30 Mar 2025)

On 30 March, ONM reported that forced conscription had intensified in Homa district, West Wallega. Four were named among many taken from 01 kebele, Homa town, on 27 March. Those who refused were detained and as a result, many fled from their homes. In West Wallega, all government employees have been ordered to undergo military training. Militia are being recruited and trained to terrorise local communities. In Boji Dirmaji district alone, 119 had been recruited from 17 kebeles (seven from each) and given ‘shooting exercises’ (ONM, 3 April).
