Detention by government forces in West Hararghe (30 Mar 2025)

In Daro Labu and Hancar districts of West Hararge on 30 March, government forces raided villages, stole cattle and stole money at gun point. A young man, Hussein Kadiro, was shot in his knee in Midhagu village, Hancar district, when cattle were taken to the military camp. He tried to attend the health centre next morning but soldiers ‘beat him to the ground like a snake.’ They then detained more than 15 people, including those who took him to the health centre, Calaqa town (ONM, 3 and 4 April).
