In Bakanisa village, Ebantu district, East Wallega, government forces burned homes and took 23 cattle from farmers Jamara Baqala Garbi and Dasale Gudata (ONM, 29 March). In East Wallega, on 26 March, the Nekemte city administration announced it was demanding 500 birr from buses and bajaj drivers. They were threatened with dismissal and imprisonment if they failed to comply (ONM, 30 March).
