Killing by government forces in Babo Gembel, West Wollega (10 Mar 2025)

On 10 March, government militia shot dead Dago Warqu Masqala, a youth in the Qanqalcha area of Walga’ii Bubbukaa village, Sayo district, Qellem Wallega ‘without warning or justification, solely based on ethnic targeting.’ Elias Tesfaye, of Dildila Gelel, Alebanta village, Haru district, West Wallega, was killed when government forces opened fire on civilians in early March. A young woman, Biranu Gutata, was also badly injured. Abram Olkeba, a health worker at a primary care station in Jarso Geba Defino, West Wallega, was killed by government forces, reported 14 March (W1).
