Killing in Adama, East Shewa (24 Feb 2025)

In the previous report, it was surmised that this event occurred in February 2024. It is now known that it occurred on 24 February, when the video was uploaded to social media. The boy’s name was Osama Nageso Abara (not Ahmed Qasim, as previously reported). He was an outstanding student who had attended a special school in Adama for gifted pupils. He had achieved the top marks in Oromia Region and the second-best in the whole of Ethiopia. When his body was retrieved, it had been mutilated. His tongue and genitalia had been removed. It is not known if this occurred before or after he was killed.
