Displacement by government forces in Karrayyu, East Shewa (7 Feb 2025)

OSG was informed of the destitution and dire needs of the Karrayyu Oromo on 7 February (W1). Addis Standard reported on 18 March that seven villages out of 18 kebeles in Fantale district were entirely displaced. Repeated attacks from Amhara militants and government forces and denial of resources, including water, has resulted in the death of many of their animals – camels, sheep and goats – as shown below (30 March, W1 and ONM).
