Killing by government militia in West Hararghe (9 Jan 2025)

Attempted killing of dissident Kelifa Hassen Ahmed, a 41 year-old former refugee in Somaliland and Djibouti, had complained about killings, including that of Aanaa Usmaa’il Alishoo (above) at a Prosperity Party conference in Galamso, West Hararge, before returning home on 9 January. He had also complained about heavy taxation, forced conscription, extortion of money to avoid conscription and the detention and robbing of farmers, merchants, teachers and others. During the night of his return, local militia surrounded his rented property and beat his landlord to the ground.
