Killing by government militia in Habro, West Hararghe (3 Jan 2025)

Aanaa Usmaa’il Alishoo (right), aged 16/17, Ifa Jiru village (also reported as Balballeettii village), Habro district, West Hararge, was shot dead on 3 January by a local government militia member, Toofiqoo Yusuuf, when he attempted to flee from his parents’ home to avoid forced conscription by local militia. His mother was protesting as he tried to flee but he was shot in front of her and died from a bullet wound to his neck (E1).
