On 2 July 2024, OLA fighters took two men from their homes in Didessa kebele and held them for a month until 100,000 birr was paid for each; they were released on 1 August 2024. Another man was abducted on the road in Gudatu Arjo town on 1 July and released after an unknown ransom.
