Milo’s sister, Simbo Urgessa, was also detained at Meki police station on 11 April and released after several weeks. Milo’s friend, Ebba Wane, is also detained. The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission was forced to end its investigation into Bate’s killing because of harassment by security forces (Addis Standard, 18 July).
