Killing by government forces in Gimbi, West Wollega (16 Feb 2024)

On Friday 16 February, in Chole town, Gimbi district, West Wallega, a husband and wife, Mengistu Qana (in his 50s) and Tewabich Daafa (in her 40s) were taken from their home and shot dead by ENDF operating from a nearby command post, leaving their four small children orphaned. They were accused by government spies of helping OLA. Their bodies were left for two days before permission was given for them to be buried.
