Reuters reported on 28 December that a drone strike Christmas Day morning on a church compound in Horo Guduru zone killed eight people and injured five. They had gathered at the Baro Full Gospel Church to gather corn in a nearby field. The dead included two deacons and two musicians in the church band and a singer in the choir. Local informant W.1 reported on 9 January that two civilians were killed in a drone attack in Dadu village, Kombolcha district, Horo Guduru, on 8 January: Henok Abebe and Gemechu Olkeba There was another drone strike in Kombolcha district, on 10 January. Casualties were not known.
