Dozens of unarmed civilians have been shot dead by Ethiopian army soldiers operating in the Qellem Wollega district of the Oromia State over the course of the past five weeks. Estimates are that since January 20 th , over a hundred others have fled their homes for the relative safety of the neighboring Gambela region.
