Addis Standard reported on 7 November that at least 18 civilians were killed by Fano militia in Artuma Fursi district on 5 November. According to two local witnesses, Fano crossed from Majate town in Efrata and Gidim district of Amhara Region North Showa zone on Thursday 2 November, killing one man. When they returned on Sunday 5th, they were met with armed resistance from residents of the three villages which they attacked. Nonetheless, 18 residents, including an unarmed elderly man, and an unstated number of Fano fighters were killed. Over 30 civilians were wounded, ten of whom seriously.
