Seven leading figures within the OLF are still being held illegally after three and a half years and more than five court orders for their release. They are being held in poor, insanitary conditions despite ill health. As reported in September,19 they were secretly transferred from Burayu Police Station, 13 km west of Finfinnee, to Dukem, 37 km southeast of the capital, in April and were only found by relatives two weeks later, imprisoned together in a single dirty cell of nine square metres.
