Killing by government forces in East Shewa (27 Mar 2023)

On the same day, government security forces raided the seat of Gadaa at Karra in the Fantalle district where ‘innocent pastoralists were severely beaten, robbed, disarmed and imprisoned. Some were severely injured and in a critical condition. Gobu Hawile died from injuries on 27 March’ the Union of Oromo Communities in Canada reported on 28 March. Both that report and the Addis Standard 1 April report also mentioned the killing by Amhara forces of Hawas Mato Bora on 12 March. His son was also critically injured in the same attack.
