8 people killed by government forces in East Wollega (15 Feb 2023)

On 15 February, Addis Standard carried a report by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) claiming that 50 IDPs were killed by OLA forces in Anno town, Gobu Seyu district, East Wollega, between 2 and 4 February. OLA spokesman Oda Tarbie described the attack as being on a Fano training facility. The EHRC reported that pro-government officials, town police and kebele militia were killed as well as innocent civilians. Eight Oromo youths in the town were killed after OLA forces withdrew, according to the EHRC. It is not known whether Chalu Mamula (see following paragraph) was one of these eight youths.
