Killing by government forces in Shambu, Horo Guduru Wollega (6 Nov 2022)

OLA forces entered Nekemte, the capital city of East Wallega, on 6 November, attacked ENDF forces encamped at the Kumsa Maroda palace/museum and released over 120 political prisoners there and in kebele 05 prison. According to an Addis Standard report on 9 November, civilians were killed in fighting before ENDF regained control of the city, in which aerial attacks were used. More were killed when those forces conducted house-tohouse searches and executed those they suspected of aiding the OLA fighters.
