Torture / ill-treatment by government militia in Nejo, West Wollega (Jul 2026)

A former militia member from kebele 04 in Mandi town was detained in July after being released by OLA, who had captured him and sent him home. He was accused of conspiring with OLA, detained and tortured. Iyasu Faqadee, a youth in Nejo town, was arrested, beaten and severely injured because he was caught listening to the songs of Haachalu Hundeesa, the assassinated icon of the Qeerroo movement.
