Detention in Nekemte, East Wollega (29 Jun 2026)

Children were among those detained, such as Marama Fayissa, a schoolboy taken from Saggoo and held in a high security cell in Jardega Jaarte district prison (reported 29 June). Secondary school students were taken from the street when on their way to sit exams and detained, missing grade and university entrance exams (e.g. brothers Lalisa and Garoma Lammessa, Nekemte).
