On 24 June, merchant Mahammad Qaadariyaa was taken from a police station in Baddeessa town, Oda Bultum district, West Hararge, to an unknown place. Police refused to disclose his location to relatives and justified this by claiming he was an OLA spy (ONM). Other abuses in Hararge zones The increased incidence of abuses in Eastern Oromia which has been witnessed in recent years has continued, with a large number of reports of detention, physical abuse, extortion, displacement and conscription. The result has been life-threatening destitution for the population.
