Displacement by government forces in Meta district, East Hararghe (Jun 2026)

ONM reported in June that government cadres forced residents from their homes in Saddoo kebele, Meta district, and gathered them together. They singled out families of Oromo nationalists and ordered them to bring their children ‘out of the forest’ or face eviction from the village. Administrators warned the community that they would be held collectively liable for any military actions nearby.
