On 1 June, a government party official named Girmaa Tulluu, was reported to be harassing and detaining youngsters from Wallega in Holota town, 45 km west of the capital. On 26 June, a similar process of targeting youth from Wallega for harassment and detention was reported in Sandarfa Bakkee town, 38 km northeast of the centre. In early June, Prosperity Party ‘operatives’ in Duukam town ordered a businessman named Mammush to pay 100,000 birr for a second time. When he refused, he was imprisoned and his vehicle and cargo were confiscated (ONM).
