- East Wollega
Detainees were often described as being ill, abused by prison guards and denied medical care for several months in detention; for example Mallasee Guddataa Ayyaansaa, in Haro Limmu district, and many, including four named by ONM, suffering lack of food and water, and from physical and mental illness in Daduu town police station, Ababo Guduru district. One result of detention which is rarely mentioned is the destitution of families whose breadwinners are detained. Family members of at least one detainee, Badhaasaa Fayisaa, were also physically prevented from tending their land in Horo district at the end of June.
