Sexual violence by government militia in East Shewa (29 May 2026)

Ten mothers in Ada'a Berga district (named by ONM) were detained and repeatedly raped by local militia members Amaanuu Hundeessaa, Seefuu Asaffaa, and Abarraa Gonfaa, and administrator Olaanaa Mokonnon, in Gatira Nabee kebele. They were kept in detention for several days beginning on 29 May, and released only after each of them paid 10,000 birr.
