Abduction / extortion / forced conscription by government forces in Bilo Boshe, East Wollega (25 May 2026)

Within a five-week period, from 25 May to 30 June, 13 examples of crippling extortion and theft by government forces from the impoverished population were reported from Horo Bulluq, Jardega Jarte, Jimma Ganate and Jimma Raree districts in Horo Guduru and Bilo Boshe, Wayu Tuqa, Guto Gida, Gida Ayana and Jimma Arjo districts and Nekemte city in East Wallega. Two other reports were later received; from Ebantu district, East Wallega, in July and one more from Gida Ayana on 11 August.
