Detention by police in North Shewa (15 Apr 2026)

Many young men and women from the village of Dubbannaa Hagaloo, Kuyyu district, were detained at Kuyyu district police station and were reportedly mistreated for four months before their detention was reported by ONM on 15 April. Among the young women who were detained are Burtukee Tasfaayee, Burtukee Ijaaraa, Ayyalee Ijaara (sisters), and a 15 year-old girl whose name was not given. There were accused, falsely, of having links to OLA.
