Burning and displacement were reported from the district on 14 January; from Qawa Hara Mirqasa village on 1 February; and from 12 looted villages on 3 February. In one of these, Sifa Battee, agents of the Upper Awash Agro Industrial Company were again implicated. Over 1,000 households were forced off their land on 4 February. Residents told ONM that although they did not take part in any political activity the government was using OLA as an excuse to attack them.
