Sheger FM says journalists remain in custody for 17 days despite court-ordered bail

Two journalists from Sheger FM Radio, editor Tigist Zerihun and reporter Mintamr Tsegaw, have remained in Federal Police custody for 17 days despite a court order granting their release on bail, the station said. The Federal Police initially detained the journalists over allegations that a report they aired contained illegal and “terroristic” content, according to a police submission to the Federal High Court when requesting an extension of their detention.
