Three killed, many displaced as clashes continue along Oromia–Somali border

Residents in the Wachille district of the East Borana Zone report that ongoing clashes with armed groups from the neighboring Somali Region have left three people dead, including a seven-year-old child, and three others injured. Residents said that on the morning of 27 August, attackers opened fire on children tending cattle in Oroto Keble, Arero district, killing seven-year-old Ebisa Dika. Kiya Godana, chief administrator of Oroto Keble, confirmed to Addis Standard that the child, a second-grade student, was killed and buried the same day.
